Korean media recently announced that Cha Eun-woo will make a special appearance in IU’s much-anticipated music project. Fans expecting Cha Eun-woo to take the male lead role in the music video for IU’s title track, Never Ending Story, were surprised to learn that actor Huh Nam-joon stars as the main male role instead.
IU’s music video for Never Ending Story introduced Huh Nam-joon as the charming employee of a book and DVD rental store who gradually falls in love with IU’s character. Despite unforeseen events preventing their reunion, the heartfelt storyline resonated deeply with viewers.
Born in 1993, the same year as IU, Huh Nam-joon debuted in film in 2019 and has steadily gained recognition through popular TV dramas like Sweet Home, The Impossible Heir, Your Honor, and When The Phone Rings. Known for his strong supporting roles, he recently earned the Best New Actor award at the 2024 MBC Drama Awards for portraying psychiatrist Ji Sang-woo in When The Phone Rings.
Although IU’s agency confirmed Cha Eun-woo’s participation, reports indicate his role will be a cameo rather than the male lead. This sparked fan speculation that IU may release additional music videos during her comeback with the album A Flower Bookmark, which features remakes of classic Korean hits.
IU continues to strengthen her reputation as the “nation’s little sister” with A Flower Bookmark, blending nostalgia with a modern twist.
